Hamblen County, Tennessee, County Court Clerk Minutes
October 1870 – December 1874 


The County Court was held at the Courthouse in Morristown, Tennessee. There are lists of the Justices of the Peace, appointment of jurymen, rent of a temporary courthouse while the new one was constructed. Requests for Letters of Administration for estate executors, lists of allowances for feeding prisoners, making coffins for paupers, repairing the jail, etc. Included are interesting details for the bids and construction of the “new” courthouse, which is still in use.
