Early West Tennessee Baptist Associations, Minutes and Notes, 1830-1903, consists of the information submitted by the West Tennessee Baptist Churches each year from 1830-1891 to the Big Hatchie Baptist Association and from 1891-1903 to the Memphis Baptist Association. These associations held annual meetings, and this book provides the names of messengers (attendees) at the meetings, plus names of ministers, and in most instances, how many white members and how many black members each church had. Later records consist of the names of church clerks and Sunday School Superintendents, as well as the value of church property. For some years, there are obituaries of church officers who died in those years, giving quite a lot of genealogical information for those persons. The book is 289 pages and is indexed.
